Did you know that when a coach goes to a tournament to watch players — 80% of the time, they’re there to watch players they’re already in contact with.
That was a weirdly worded sentence.
Point is: don’t attend a tournament, showcase, meet, etc. without emailing or DMing schools first.
The Harsh Reality
Think about it…
Why would a coach spend hundreds of dollars and waste his time by traveling across the country to gamble on the hope that he might find a couple good players that he’s never heard of?
It doesn’t happen often.
Instead, they visit tournaments where there are multiple players attending who they’re already in contact with.
This ensures that the coach is making the most of his time & money.
So before you head off to that tournament and showcase…
Send emails and DMs.
