Newsletter: The #1 reason coaches don't respond to your emails
Fix this, and get more interest from coaches.
Yo -
Want to know the #1 reason coaches don’t recruit you?
They don’t need your position and grad class.
Coaches recruit what they need.
You could be the best player in the country, but if they don’t need your position and graduation class, they won’t recruit you.
If you could find schools actively looking for your position and graduation class, your response rate would be significantly higher.
There’s no perfect way to find this information.
But there is something you can do to get more responses to your emails.
Finding schools in need
Go to the school’s athletic website
Navigate to the school’s roster for your sport
Find your position
If the team has as bunch of younger players at your position, they are less likely to need you (this is assuming you’re a HS upperclassman). If the team has a bunch of older players at your position, they are more likely to need you.
When you find a team that has a bunch of older player at your position, check to see if they’ve already recruited players to fill those gaps. You can do this by google searching, “(school) (sport) (recruits)”
If they haven’t recruited anyone for your position yet, then the team is significantly more likely to respond to your email and recruit you.
This process takes about 5 minutes per school.
But it’s more than worth it.
This is the kind of thing that 99% of athletes aren’t doing.
And it’s the reason that you’ll get more scholarship offers than them.
The recruiting machine,

P.S. If you do this, you’ll end up having to send less emails to college coaches while still getting more responses. It’s a beautiful thing. See you tomorrow.
