Newsletter: What NOT to say in emails to college coaches
Don't say these things!
Yo -
Here’s what NOT to say in emails to college coaches:
(or really, any conversation with them)
What Not To Say
Am I recruitable?
I hope I can play for you.
Am I good enough?
I think I can be of value to you.
It’s my dream to play at (school).
Please email me back. I want to play at (school) more than anything!
All of these phrases indicate that you are not good enough to play at the school that you are communicating with.
If it was obvious that you were good enough, would you write, “Am I good enough?”
Of course not.
You only write that because it’s not obvious.
By writing phrases like these, you are telling the coach that you are not good enough.
Avoid these phrases like the plague.
Perception is important.
