Here's Why a 3-Minute Highlight Video AIN'T IT
There are 2 specific reasons.
Hey, it’s Jack.
Here’s why a 3-minute highlight video isn’t the move.
(and what you should do instead)
Reason #1: Coaches Won’t Watch It
Coaches get hundreds of emails.
And thousands of videos.
They don’t watch the entire three minutes for every player.
Instead, they click around the 3-minute video to find the 10-15 seconds that they actually care about.
So a 3-minute video just makes the coach’s job harder.
Reason #2: You’ll Run Out Of Video Ammo
An email response is not a scholarship.
So even when you get a response, there’s still a lot of work to do.
Getting a scholarship typically requires weeks (or months) of follow ups.
The primary item in a follow up email? Video.
If you only have 5 longer videos, then you don’t give yourself many follow up opportunities.
Consider the alternative…
If you took those 5 longer videos and cut them up into shorter videos, you’d likely have 20, 30, maybe even 40+ clips.
You now have a war chest of videos for follow up emails.
Queue the battle drums.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to video.
I could go on and on, but it’s Saturday…
And you probably have more fun things to do.
Hope this helps.
See you Monday.
All the best,
Jack
P.S. If you want a step-by-step system to navigate the recruiting process, get more scholarship opportunities, and make the whole process less overwhelming…
We have a DIY program.
We have a more hands-on coaching program.
See you Monday.
